Prior to ModGene, Dr. Hilbush was Director of Research at Neurome, Inc. where he was responsible for developing and overseeing depression and neurodegenerative disease target discovery programs. At Neurome, he led scientific teams in molecular biology and neuroscience and established mouse genetics and automated gene expression technology capabilities. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Discovery Biology at Digital Gene Technologies, Inc., where he was responsible for operations supporting gene expression-based research collaborations and led molecular biology, robotics and bioinformatics teams.
Dr. Hilbush was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of James I. Morgan at the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology. While at Roche, he focused on applying molecular genetics and gene expression approaches towards understanding synaptic plasticity in the mouse central nervous system. He received his B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington and his Ph.D. in Neurobiology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
